I apologize! This totally off topic but maybe someone here can help.
A friend of mine has a telephone branded "Panaphone KX-T2838LM". It is working principally but he cannot dial out because the dialling hangs after the first "0", as if the phone waits for a carrier signal. Does any of you have such a beast and can check for me, which of the phone settings can be tweaked? I simply don´t have a manual and cannot find one on the net.

I don't have any documentation about the possible settings of the phone which are accessible through the key sequence "set"+digit "1" through "6" (IIRC). The phone has a display which shows cryptic abbreviations for them. I only understand one setting about the length of the hook flash signal. All others are what we call "Böhmische Dörfer" (Villages in Böhmen), so to say, I've no idea what they mean.
Is there a setting which controls "wait for dial tone" or something like "direct connection" versus "connect trough PBX"?

Wie immer kann man sich nie sicher sein, ob die das Telefon wirklich herstellen (eigentlich wuerde der Name auf einen anderen Hersteller schliessen lassen; die Firmen-Initialen stehen meist am Anfang des Produktnamens) - ein Versuch ist es aber wert.
Zum Problem: es kann a) durchaus sein, dass das Telefon nicht in D betrieben werden kann oder b) das Telefon war vorher an einer Anlage angeschlossen, die ein dial-prefix "0" benoetigte - das funktioniert natuerlich nicht an einem direkten Anschluss.
Vielleicht gibt es die Moeglichkeit, den Puffer-Kondensator / die Pufferbatterie kurzzuschliessen, um die Grundeinstellung zu bekommen...
