Full Version: 97 key lettering wearing off?

Hi Folks,

The seller of this 97 says the lettering is starting to wear off of the enter key. I thought these keys were injection moulded, meaning the lettering went all the way through the key.
Comments anyone?

Thanks, Hal

You're correct; the key lettering can't wear off. I've seen 97s where the "Enter" key was noticeably worn down in the center from being used so much, and the lettering was clear. I imagine the key is simply dirty.

Actually, it can wear down... or at least appear to do so. I have had to fix several HP97 keyboards where the white part of the keys (mainly the right hand keys) has deteriorated. I flood the key with a white paint and remove the excess with a cloth and some white gas.
