Hi all. I tried to print a program with my thinkjet printer and my HP-75c. I use PRINTER IS ':PR' and after that PLIST and all i get is just a couple of line print on the printer and the display and printer write "TRANSMISSION ERROR"

So i tried my HP-75C on my HP41-IL "brown" printer and this time no problem (but i would like to print WIDER with the thinkjet)

After, i try to print with my HP-41 on my Thinkjet and everything is ok...

Hummm... the printer is ok, the HP-75 is ok but they don't like each other. Is it normal that it just print a couple of line and jump with an Error? Sometime i can get 15 lines, sometime no line at all...

Any idea?

Thanks
Michel

This looks like a battery problem, are you sure your ThinkJet battery is in good condition. Can you check its voltage during the print operation to see if the voltage level changes?

Another test would be to try to test the ThinkJet electronics to verify that you do not have a memory problem in the IL interface. Try sending data at a very low data rate (e.g. one line every 10 sec) to
see if the printer managrs to print more lines. If this works, it may indicate that there is a problem with the printer's buffer (which slowly fills up as the printer mechanism cannot keep up with the incoming data).

I tried my HP-75C on my disk drive and on cassette drive and i also get a "bad transmission error after a few seconds. I think that my HP-75c is defective; how can it be possible?!

Michel

check the cables, they may be damaged and make contact intermitently

you can also use a single cable to connect the HP-IL output port
to the HP-IL input port on you HP-75 and see if the loop works.

If you get timeouts replace the cable. If you still get timeouts then
it is very likely that the HP-75 interface has a problem.
