Hi to all!

I just loaded 2 HP48GX programs + their 2 associated variables into my HP49G just to see whether they would work in it. Unfortunately I got a very hard crash ,,, to the extent that I can no longer restart my HP 49G , be it through ON+A+F or through inserting a pin in the back hole. A few times it started prompting something like " Restore memory Yes / No ? " , I first choose YES a few times and as nothing happened I subsequently chose NO afterwards. HP49G did not recover even with a memory lost.

Now it no longer reacts to anything I know of .

I also put new batteries in it. No joy , so I removed its 3 batteries for the time being .

CAS is the Beta version released some 2 years ago.

It looks like I might have corrupted its internal system :-(( !!!

Any wizard reading me who could help ?

Thanks in advance

The Try To Remember Memory? TTRM crash you experienced was most likely due to a SysRPL program for the 48 you loaded into your 49, where there are different entry points. It is unusual that it should crash the machine to the point you describe. The only thing I can think of is to try to reflash the ROM, if the machine can turn on to connect with your pc. For possible answers with better solutions post this to Google Group comp.sys.hp48

Thank you "I, Claudius" for your quick reply. Unfortunately, the machine doest not restart at all, so it does not seem possible to reflash the ROM which certainly looks the unavoidable step to get it back in order.

I have been extremely talented to inadvertently crash some machines or some software to the extent that it has been known in my community that if a system works with me , it means that it is fully debugged and it will therefore fully work with anybody else!!!

Antoine

To you again to you "I, Claudius" ,

Somebody from "the other site" you suggested to me asked me " Are the programs libraries? If so, HOLD the backspace key on startup.
That will stop them from attaching. Then use the filer to delete the offending libraries. "

AND IT WORKED !!!

So thank you very much to all of you on both sites, i.e. this one and TOS because you thanks to BOTH sites I am out of trouble now

Hi Antoine,

A perfect description for my experience as well.

Oh, I read here too. I just feel left out here since I ONLY have 20 calculators or so, and all of them are 48g or newer. I just don't fit in with the SERIOUS collectors. . . ;-)
