Hi everyone,

First of all...
I just noticed that this is a forum for HP Calulators...
Sorry for my post in here, I saw it too late.

Anyway, since there are HP-experts here, perhaps someone could help me.

I need to install the HP LaserJet 2430 printer on a WINNT4.0 machine.
So far I have done a network installation on the Windows XP machines.

After contacting HP Techsupport on how to correctly install this printer onto a WINNT4.0 machine, I learned that I need to create a new TCP/IP port and assign the printer's IP-address to that.

However when adding the port, it requests the files LexNetUI.cnt, LexNetUI.hlp and LexStart.exe

I have searched the net but can not find these files.
I have already downloaded and used the following files successfully:
mvntinst.dll, lexlmpm.dll, lexbce.dll, lexbcelm.dll, lexip32.dll and lexll32.dll

Can someone please tell me where I can find LexNetUI.cnt, LexNetUI.hlp and LexStart.exe?

Kind regards,
Ruben.

I really don't understand why did you post this message after you noticed this is HP Calculators Forum on the very beginning ?!?

I already posted it.
Then I noticed it was for calculators so I edited my post to say sorry...

Hi, Ruben;

by understanding that you posted wrongly, apologized and yet tried to find some help here, I see that you at least located yourself (never mind, `dot` is a little harsh, sometimes...)

I`m not sure about how new is the 2430 printer, and based on what you post, you may have probably searched for the files in its own installation CD set, right? Anyway, have you considered the Windows 2000 (or XP) instalation CD`s as a second source for these files? Windows NT is somehow old, and if the 2430 is too new, chances are you`ll not find these files accordingly.

Just a guess.

Last but not least... what do you have to offer now, related to HP calculators? It`s your turn...

Best regards.

Actually, I think the Windows NT CD is the place to look. What's needed is the TCP/IP print driver, which is not specific to the printer type, although I've only ever set up HP printers this way. From my dim recollections of NT, you have to go to the network settings for the interface and select "Add Component" or something like that. It may also be possible to do that from the add software/system components in Control Panel. In any event, it's an issue of NT, not the printer.

That's one bit of retro computing I'd rather forget. 8)
