When the HP-49G was introduced, I decided not to buy it, because of the many reports of bugs and crashes. Since I am interested in its features (I currently use a 48G but I need more memory and a CAS) I would like to know if it can now be considered sufficiently stable and reliable for serious use. How does its CAS compare with that of the TI89?
Thanks.

As a user of a 15C,28S,42S,48GX and 49G I have to say that the 49 is the best calc machine ever made. We can upgrade the 49G simply downloading the newest rom version and install it on the machine, so the bugs and the crashes are reported for the earlies rom-version users. The only disappointment is the keyboard that is simply stupid!
CAS is faster, 3D graphs is realtime, prettyprint is really nice, but 48GX has many libraries and I think it will be used for a long time.
Sorry, I don't use TI89 and I can't make comparisons, but I was very impressed with a TI92+ and its geometry capabilities.

If you're not using your 15C, 28S, and 42S, I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands for you. ;^)

I'm still using them, I look for a "lowpriced" 41CX, can we trade?
