While “GOOGLE-ING” around the net for HP simulators and emulators, I came across an emulator for the HP 10BII at hpcc.org. Unfortunately, it did not work. With a little more research, I found a hack using regedit to modify the timestamp at educalc.net.

Given the current legal wrangling over ROM images and copyright protection… what would be your opinion of the legal or moral efficacy in using this program.

If you're talking about the Emu10BII,

and if it's publicy available incl. the ROM image (built-in),

there should be no problem from either side.

Apart from that, I see no advantage using a 10BII emulator;-)

I suppose it is the one I mention here. Alas it does not save its status and on every start of the emulator you get an HP-10BII set to the factory defaults. For it's quite dark faceplate you find a brighter replacement here: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/nutem/fp10b2.zip. Put it in the UI subdirectory (user interface).

IMHO this emulator is a "private compile" of what HP France offered several years ago as "try before buy". That version had no UI subdir. (With PaintShopPro V7 you may play with those files.)

If it is immoral using such an emulator? Well, it is immoral too to commit adultery. Hope this hint helps to find an upshot on you own.
