Hello all,

as subject indicates, we worked out a new meeting date.

It's the 27th of November, 2004 .

Wlodek Mier-Jedrzejowicz plans to attend,

as well as Christoph Giesselink (Mr Emu48),

Raymond Del Tondo (me;-),

and Matthias Wehrli (as host).

We hope to have as many attendees as possible.

Please use this unique chance to meet Wlodek,

one of the internationally well known persons

who has done very much for the HP community.

It's also a good place to meet other HP fans,

the more the better.

Please reply to this posting, so Matthias can get

an idea how many people will actually attend,

which is important for the room planning.

Detailed questions can be directed to Matthias at

museum@hp-collection.org

Remember:

You won't have another chance to meet Wlodek

in your neighbourhood in the near future,

so please make it possible.

Hope to see you all in Allschwil on 27th of November, 2004

Regards,

Raymond

Meindert

I will attend, too!

I'm going to prepare something to present...

Hi Matthias!

Do you have an adequate room for the meeting? Otherwise I could offer a photo studio with all facilities: an italian resto and the most authentic chinese one in the surrounding of Basle, both to reach within 1 minute on foot. I tried to phone you when I was on the "Häfelimärt" this WE, but w/o phone number it's a bit difficult <G>

Anyway, it was funny to see the tramway No. 6 with destination "Allschwil", what has an additional aspect owing to your meeting.

Ciao.....Mike

Hi!

I am considering joining in at the meeting if I manage to find a good flight ticket. Do you have a fixed starting time for the meeting? (Something in the afternoon like 15.00 would suit me absolutely best as it would allow for some travel time during the Saturday).

What room/sleeping options are there?

Best regards,

Erik Ehrling (Sweden)

Yes, if possible with a sleeping bag as the washing machine needs some fixing.

Ciao.....Mike

Hi party-people

Last time we met we started the meeting at 10h a.m. in my appartment. We had a small appetizer and some very interesting talks. As I see this time we have guest from all over Europe (what I´m very happy, thanks a lot to all of you!), so maybe we start the meeting at 11h, but you are wellcome the whole day fro 9h - xxh. Last time the last participants left arround 2h a.m. on Sunday.
I can offer you a trip through Basel as well, just let me know when (Friday/Sunday).
I got the same location room for workshops as last year, so we have place, tables, chairs, and sockets enough.
Maybe it would be nice, when everyone brings along so small food/beverage from his home, so that we have an international buffet.
Please let me know, if you will join our lunch, so that I can reserve place in a restaurant.
Please let me also know, if I may share your email address to all participants, so that I can send you last infos by a circular mail.

Yours

Matthias

OK - so I cancel the photo studio.

Ciao.....Mike

Hi! I have checked on flight schedules and unfortunately there does not seem to be any direct connections from Gothenburg to Basel, and no alternative arrives before 2pm in the afternoon, so unfortunately it will not be worth the effort, maybe next year if I have more time to take a long weekend off.

My best regards to all participants in the meeting!

/Erik

Hi, Raymond.

Living in Switzerland, it would be possible to meet Allschwil near Basle.

Please give us some more information: are you a club, do you have some internet site regarding your activities? Where is the meeting point? Do you need some fee for your organization costs?

Thank you for information.

Valentino

Hi Valentino!

The page I made for the last year's meeting is a very-very limited focus on just one subject. I tried to deal old machines and in the end I was lucky not to take home again an HP9000-300 with all peripherals. But mainly the subject is on _using and emulating_ HP's calculators. For the first time I may show my NutEm to an interested audience and how it's useless as it runs only on IBM mainframes (and emulations thereof).

For your other questions, I am sure Matthias sent/sends you an eMail.

Ciao.....Mike

Hi Valentino,

it would be nice to meet you in Allschwil, too.

Most of us are just HP calculator fans,

who met somehow through either comp.sys.hp48 ,

the hpmuseum forum, TOS, or maybe eBay .

Some are even members of the HPCC (www.hpcc.org) .

Amongst us there are collectors of HP related stuff,

mostly users of HP equipment, and even some people

who still develop hardware and/or software for HPcalculators.

We had a very interesting meeting in Allschwil last year,

and want to continue with a meeting on 27th of November this year.

Matthias Wehrli is our host for the meeting. You can contact him directly

regarding any detail questions at museum@hp-collection.org .

He also has an interesting web site: http://www.hp-collection.org/

Regards,

Raymond

"Aufgeschoben ist nicht aufgehoben." About: adjourned is not nullified.

Matthias

Hi fans, collectors, users, developpers, programmers

The time runs fast and our Allschwil meeting is right next door. Please let me know if you want to join us too. The date is the 27.11.2004. Up to now we are 8-9 persons. I will contact all participants in about 5 days for further informations.

Matthias

Dear handheld computer enthusiasts,

First of all, great thanks to Matthias and Raymond, for managing the Allschwil meeting at 27. November 2004.

Now it seems, that this meeting will be bring together the gigantic people of the European handheld computer scene. Reading the participant names is like discovering the best list of today HP handheld computer specialists, leaded by star guest Wlodek.

Long time it seems, that it will not possible from me side, to come to Allschwil. But after some discussions with my family, after shifting some target dates and by booking an overnight train transfer to Basel now I am able to come.

As most of you expect from me, I will present you some nice HP41 and HP-IL interface applications during the meeting :

+ HP-IL/PC Interface Card

+ Uploading ROM´s from HP41 to EMU41 and CLONIX

+ HP41 & HP3468 Digitalmultimeter

+ I/O-Board (temperature measurement)

+ IL2000 (audio measurement / loudspeaker measurement)

With best regards and waiting to meet you - Christoph Klug

Well I´m glad you can attend our meeting. I hope I didn´t fall from grace with your family...
It seems that this is a so called "summit meeting", but not a political one.
Could you please also show us, how to rebuild a rambox with your existing tape? I would set up a PC with your ISA-IL card...

Matthias

Well, my belly has a noticeable size, but the word "gigantic" is _not_ adequate. OK, compared with you, you may be right <sigh>

Your overwhelming words may be adequate for the announced participants, anyway I feel a bit sad about other HP41-emulator programmers are missing: Hrastprogrammmer, Berd Abel, ... and the non-European too.

Ciao.....Mike

BTW: I was asked about an HP41 emulator for Linux. TIA 4 all hints.

I have a little surprice for you, maybe......
