How do I achieve it that complex numbers, lists, and vectors have a multiline display, if they are on the first level of the stack? I have flag -52 "Show many lines" on, and also flag -65 "Level 1 multiline" on. However, a complex number displays on line 1 in a single line with an arrow at the right end. I'd like to see the whole number (without having to press the downarrrow and scrolling to the very right), similarly to how the 48 displays it. Ditto for lists and vectors.

Thanks for any suggestions.

-98 SF -19 CF V-> ->V2
{VPN}

Thanks, but that doesn't do it.

To give an example:

(2,2) sqrt gives (1.55377397403,.643 right arrow

what I want is

(1.55377397403,
.643594252906)

i.e., multiline display for level 1,
without having to press V->.

HG

-19 CF {-62 -63 -98} SF

<< DROP V-> ->V2 >> BetaENTER STO (Beta= Greek letter B)

{vpn}

Thanks, but again, that doesn't work either. One problem is that complex numbers now all convert to vectors. If you have access to a HP 48gx, try it. -52 CF

(2,2) sqrt

Or try

{3 6 2 5 8 9 33333 2587}

With flag -52 cleared "Show many lines", long lists, and complex numbers with std format on stack level 1 "show many lines."

Unfortunately, this doesn't happen on a HP 49g+. You get only one line with a filled arrow on the right. Flag -52 seems to work differently here.

Hi,

I seem to remember having the same problem with metaKernal (though tha machine is at home today and I am at work) but with the standard 48gx it does just what Helge says.

But metakernel has its own special flags, too----so is that true on the 49G+?

I think the only way to show multiline is to turn off the stack textbook display by setting flag -79 or by using the display modes input form.

Dave

Yes, setting flag -79 does it! (Who would have thought?) Thank you!

It's too bad, though, I like the textbook display. I guess you just can't have it all. . .

I have not the problem in my 48 with MK, but I I don't know how to help...
