I was watching TV's "History Channel" about our first space shuttle in 1981. That was before the HP-15C! And then I remember in HP's Key-Notes a photo showing the Astronauts on board with an HP-67.

IIRC, the first on-board nav computer contained a whopping 4k of plated wire memory so the HP was a pretty powerful backup!
FYI, the shuttle astronauts did not use the HP-67, but the HP-41c.

I think that the HP65 (or maybe -67) was used in the Apollo-Soyuz rendezvous.
