I am sure that this question has been raised before, but I have only been reading this forum for about 1 year, so I will ask anyway: Is the 30S an HP design or a re-badged version of someone else's calculator?
I bought one the other day to keep in my brief case (too high risk service for any of my RPN pocket calculators). It has enough quirks that it feels like an HP design (I mean that comment as good and bad). The relatively innovative use of menus on the two-line display is good. The fact that the transcendental functions are true algebraic is bad (IMHO). Most algebraic calcs allow "90 sin" - this one requires "sin 90 =" - if you have an existing result on the display, I have not found an elegant way to perform an e^x or arcsin. So far I have had to store the result in memory, then press "e^x rcl ="
The physical layout is okay. Add another two lines to the display and RPN and I would buy (and pay more!).
