I recently aquired a 14B. It is a 1987 Made in USA unit, according to the case. There is nothing special about the piece other than the serial number area is completly blank. Not even a hint of one, just smooth and blank.

Has anyone ever seen this before on perhaps an early production unit or prototype?

Warranty replacement unit that was never filled in with the original unit's number.
