Hi All,

What is the best reference for Simulation (in general terms) do you recommend?

A little help, please

a. analog

b. modeling

c. gaming

etc. Very interesting but modestly unconstrained query.

Hello Kimberly,

I am interested in simulation for modeling and for gaming. Any pointer is greatly appreciated.

Good choices! I enjoy the range and diversity of your submottals over the many years - KUDOS!

Simulation is experimentation with models. This book describes new computer programs for interactive modeling and simulation of dynamic systems, such as aerospace vehicles, control systems, and biological systems. Simulation studies for design or research can involve many hundreds of model changes, so programming must be convenient, and computations must be as fast as possible.

This book is about advanced simulation programming and describes many new techniques. We provide only a brief review of routine simulation programming but demonstrate computer software for remarkably fast and respectably large simulation studies on inexpensive personal computers or workstations.

The NAVAL Post-graduate school releases (to the general public) many WarGaming thesis on the DTIC web site, many with source code included. If this is in the vein of your inquiry & need, I'll get with you via email and assist in your research.

Again, THANKS for the many years of stimulating blogs & submittals to the RPN enthusiast.

Nice thread :)

Thanks Kimberly. Luckily, I have a PDF version of the book you mentioned.

Modeling and simulation, when done well, is an insightful pursuit. It starts with an understanding of what is really happening, then proceeds to the mathematical modeling of what is happening, and then-if necessary-to the recreation of that reality from some point of view.

This book is designed to help you develop the ability to look at a tactical situation

Thanks again. I don't have that one. I bookmarked it on Amazon.
