I have obtained an HP-33C package for my collection that includes the calculator, the charger, the carton and two manuals all in near mint condition. There is not a typical HP battery pack. Instead there is a metal frame into which one can slip a pair of AA cells. There are no markings on the frame. Could this simply be a stripped down battery pack?
I can slip standard non-rechargeable cells into the frame. My question is "Should I?" I seem to recall something suggesting that the standard cells would provide too much voltage, but I haven't been able to find it.
