Maybe there are less financial people here than you assume. After all, I guess most of us techies suffer under those people so we may be just happy they don't frequent this forum.

Ok, I don't want that anyone has to suffer under me, so I've deleted my previous postings and my TVM program again.

Franz

Hello Franz,

I have a daily use of your TVM programs, both PC and 34s version.

Therefore I have a great interest in your update.

Would you mind sending me the link through the Forum email if the fellows here are not interested?

Herzlichen Dank

Etienne

Of course no problem, Etienne! :-)

Send me a PM so I have your email and can attach the latest TVM version for you.

Regards,

Franz

Any techie involved in manufacturing must accept the reality of financial contraints. I had to do it in order to effectively support semiconductor manufacturing. Businesses must make money to survive. While at the university, several of my required courses in Engineering were devoted to financial topics.

OMG - I just answered your question why you get little response here, and this sensitive soul deleted his posts d<:-/ How often have you read before that HP was best when driven by engineers (according to the vast majority of forumers)? And that those financial folks doomed HP? Did that keep you from posting here? Come on ...

d:-?

The forum would be a better place without your cruel statements Walter.

Reality is cruel, Jim. And please remember you wouldn't have got the WP 34S with more political correctness, marketing, fashionability, and less 'old school'.

d:-I

Incorrect, reality is not cruel. Reality is certainly real, but it is not cruel. It is also not loving, either. It is neutral.

cru·el/ˈkruəl/ Show Spelled [kroo-uhl] Show IPA
adjective, cru·el·er, cru·el·est.
1. willfully or knowingly causing pain or distress to others.
2. enjoying the pain or distress of others: the cruel spectators of the gladiatorial contests.
3. causing or marked by great pain or distress: a cruel remark; a cruel affliction.
4. rigid; stern; strict; unrelentingly severe.

Definition number 4 seems like it might begin describing reality, but, to an optimist reality is none of these things. So describing reality as complying with definition number 4 is only an opinion, a point of view. And being subjective, is not considered reality.

Quote:
[reality] is neutral.

The laws of thermodynamics say otherwise. They favor things being broken, and cause things to tend toward that condition. Exceptions can occur locally when there is available energy, but not in the long run.

And yet you cannot take a second to reflect and remember the large number of bug reports and extensive testing provided by Franz.

I'm with Jim, your mistreatment of Franz makes me uncomfortable.

You are spot on: Franz is a valued member of this community who has always proven to be very easy to interact with, has recognized the hard work of others, has never behave in a childish way, i.e. announcing to leave definitively then coming back many times or insulting someone for implementing a function he wanted but not exactly how he wanted it...

I understand why you feel the need to defend such a nice, temperered, easy-going & open-minded guy.

'Broken' is subjective, it is from the perspective of the viewer. The universe may, through increasing entropy, actually be reaching a less 'broken' state; one of increased uniformity.

Reality is nuetral. It is only our perception that makes it cruel or delightful.

Sarcasm noted and point taken. I amend my comment accordingly:

The constant bickering between Franz and Walter makes me uncomfortable.
