Hi all I have upgraded from ME to XP pro. I have data recorded to a cd that I can no longer view. Is it because the file system has changed from NTFS to FAT32. I have important photo's of my new baby son so any help would be gladly accepted.

Thanx

Martin

Martin,

This is a forum for HP calculators, not PCs.

However, most of us here are also PC users, too. I doubt your problem is due to the file format on the CD. XP should recognize the file format of whatever file system it is looking at. Have you tried opening/accessing your CD with the picture viewer (I think that's what it is called) in XP?

Even simpler, XP should recognize the CD when it is in its drive and at least show file names. Do other CDs work OK with your new system?

(In my opinion, your real mistake was "upgrading" to XP! I will stick with Win98 as long as I can. In fact, most of my PC use is still under DOS!)

You might want to look around for some PC forums for additional suggestions.

Dave

I agree with Dave about XP being an "upgrade".

Martin, Are you sure the CDR is "closed" that you finalized or
"finished" it? Maybe XP will let you do that, but you may have to find another WinME PC with the same CDR software to do it.
