I wanted to use my old 15c again after about 25 years. Got some new batteries: varta V357 but it wont work.
Sometimes I can turn it on but after a while it turns off. When it's on a little flashing star can be seen. But most of the time I can't turn it on at all.
Do I have the wrong batteries or is the 15c faulty or just too old?

Hi there. When you open the battery door, check to see if the contacts are corroded or if there's acid in the battery chamber.
I believe that the "little flashing star" is indicative of low batteries. Can you test them or try another set? As suggested above, are the battery contacts clean?

If you're using a new set of cells you might want to test the
voltage across the stack when installed to factor out issues
such as shorted traces or bypass capacitor.
The other oddity I've seen on at least one voyager is the
positive cell terminal not having pressure contact with the
pcb. The contact spring actually mounts in the housing
such that compression force from installed cells is against
the housing and not the pcb. Housing to pcb compression needs
to be created independently when the contact spring is
installed. If the spring "unscrews" in use it can lose
contact with the pcb. But this can be addressed by rotating
it in the opposite direction.
