HP plans to turn WebOS into an open-source project

I wonder if this signals a change in heart at HP and the way they will deal with software in the future. I don't know if this would ever affect the calculator group, but there are several computer systems where this policy would be appropriate. I'm thinking mainly of abandoned MPE/iX and some of the 9000 series systems.

I have been waiting to see what HP decided to do with WebOS. This might breathe new life into what could be a great OS with just a little bit of polishing.
