Hi:

Does anyone know if it is possible to repair a 48 SX that got wet? (Roof Leak) The survey card still works in a 48GX but I want to know if I should just heave the SX or if it can be repaired/reprogrammed.

Thanks

While it is no longer under warrenty, Hp will still repair (actually replace) your calculator with the equalivent replacement for a set fee. In your case, the equalivent would be a GX model. It would be exchanged for approx $70 last time I checked (a couple years ago). Certainly less than a new GX (though it may possibly be a refurb or return).

Ph#970-392-1001 ext 0 last time I used.

A last ditch thing to try is cycling it through three separate baths of distilled water in an ultrasonic cleaner. Drain all the water out of it and dry it in an oven on LOW (less than 150F) for a couple of days at least with all the ports open, etc. This has worked for me on some rather badly mudded up HP42S machines.
