Hello,
I need to clean my HP-97 print head, but I have no idea how to get to it and with what to clean it with. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Fouad
You can run a red cleaning card through to do a reasonably good job unless it is badly gummed up. The card is abrasive and will wear a small amount of material off the head, so you want to use it sparingly. Direct access to the head itself requires complete disassembly of the card reader.
Michael,
I am talking about the printer head not the card reader.
Thanks anyway for looking.
Regards,
Fouad
I had the same problem of bad printing with my HP97, it was solved by buying actual thermal paper (black). The old paper wasn't working good for printing and for advancing too.
HP97 use normal 57mm wide thermal paper.

I tried the same paper on my hp 82143a printer and works great.
I also read on the museum that using black thermal paper on an HP97 wears out the print head.
