Thanks for the information. I had hoped many people would respond with what they have actually been successful with.

When the little badge came off my 16C I used the merest dab of Locktite superglue (UK brand name). Many years later and it's still stuck.

Is it a thick glue, or did you just glue the thin edges?

It's a thin watery glue that you use quite sparingly. As I remember, I used a pin to dab a small qty around the rim of the badge (it was many years ago now). I don't know what trade name it goes by in other countries, but it's the glue that sticks your fingers together - you know the sort of thing! Can also disolve some plastics. Either the plastics here are not affected or else I didn't use enough to see any melt. YMMV of course!

It would help if you mention which formula of Locktite you used. I have 3 different formulations of Locktite at home, and they make many more...

Wish I could help more. All I can tell you is that it's Loctite "Super Glue". It's just a brand name, and matching one country's against another is impossible without a universal identifier (e.g. a chemical formula). The tube/pot thing says "CYANOACRYLATE. DANGER." plus loads of good advice about not squirting it in your eyes :-)

If you think it might help, I'll happily e-mail you (or anyone else) a picture of the (quite distinctive) container, but I imagine they'll differ from one country to another too.

Loctite sell a few different glues in the UK too, but this is the one that everyone knows. If you go to the hospital late on a Friday night, this is the glue with which somebody has stuck one part of their body to another. It bonds in seconds.

I don't know what kind Chris used, but my favorite kind of superglue is Loctite "Quicktite" "high performance superglue" which is a thin glue. What I like best about it (other than it sticks good!) is that the bottle cap has a metal pin to keep the spout clear. I've had the best luck with this kind as far as being able to use a bottle multiple times; with other brands, sometimes after one or two uses the cap won't close right and the bottle dries up. An earlier bottle of "the good stuff", that I kept for several years, did become quite thick; I then used it to glue my HP15C PCB back in place.

I recently bought a new bottle and didn't notice till just now that what I got is Quicktite but there is a brush built-in to the bottle cap, so no pin. I might keep it and see how I do with a brush.

The one with the pin in the cap is identified on the card as "reorder 79340-82193", that's just the UPC without the check digits. The kind with the brush is "79340-26442".

I apologize Chris, in my zeal, I only read "Locktite" and not "Locktite superglue" as you had posted. So, I was thinking about all the other formulations of Locktite, some of which may or may not work for attaching emblems.
