The HP Museum lists the 27S as moderately difficult to obtain; however, I've been unable to find one.

I'd be grateful if the group could advise on this.

Thanks, David

This was the most powerful algebraic pocket calculator ever made by Hp or any one. Hence, anyone who has one knows it cannot be replaced by anything on the market today, so they won't sell.

You might consider an Hp19bii, since it has all the functions and capabilities as a 27s aside from Hex, Bool, Dec conversions.

In terms of rarity, these models come up on eBay every so often.... probably about 6-8 per year. The classified ads on this site also list them from time to time.

I obtained mine a few years ago. I recall it wasn't too difficult to find.

For several years I am looking for a HP-21S.

Ciao.....Mike

I have been trying for quite a while to find a 27S to replace a stolen calc. Here in this forum I had been advised to buy a 19BII instead. Many people get confused by the “business consultant” designation. This is not a problem at all. 19BII is as good as 27S in most of the functions, such as the brilliant solver, statistical functions and many others. It even offers UPN (can be switched to algebraic easily), which still is far better for manual calculations and not available with 27S and few other interesting functions. 27S is really hard to find and they tend to be quite expensive.
