Full Version: Strange eBay prices lately.....

After a couple of years hiatus, I've had the "bug" to buy a few more HP's, my first Russian calculators, etc. A little restoration. Not quite to my slogan from 2001: "Another Day, Another Calculator." That was a fun time.

I just bought a fully working HP-19C for $153. (My wife's response: "Don't you already have one of those?" "Duh! Not one from Singapore.") Not too odd.. except that a "working" (nothing noted about the card reader) TI-59 just sold for $182, and an HP-12C in a box just sold for $258. Anyone want to buy all my 12C's and 59's? <grin> (Who was it on the forum that used to mail HP's with TI's thrown in as packing material?.....) My TI's may actually be worth something some day. (I probably have a half dozen 59's as it was my calculator in college and they were only a couple of dollars years ago and fun to fix...)

On the one hand, it's nice to see the prices of these wonderful antiques going up, on the other hand, it sure makes collecting tougher.

Hi Michael

the 58C and 59(C?) are in fact very desirable as they are the pinnacle of 70's programmable calculator technology (along with the 67C and 41C).

As a young kid then all I could afford was the 57, the "poor" relation to the 58 and 59, but that was only $20 at your local Woolworths, so it was OK for a 11 year old!

Regards!

Hmm! I have a few of them TI58C that I don't ever use. May be I should put them on Ebay?

I've seen the boxed 12C sold for more than $250, too: and I think it's very strange... the same day I've bought a mint 28S 100th Anniversary for $94, strange again...

Saw a boxed mint 16C reach $400 on ebay with 28 bids.

Those 16C's.... never go cheaply!

and this... HP 01...

8 days to go... $1300++ so far... 17 bids...

This one won't go cheap!

A good 58C... I'm a buyer. Used to create self-modifying programs on the 59 & 58C. Or if you have a 59 with a working card reader....

12C's going for those high prices are usually units made in USA;-)

My 16C is just the calc, battery low, any bids here?

Yes, USA made model are more considered than other... but 12C is a very common model, I've seen some 12C (USA) sold at $60/70!!
