Anyone have the pinout for a Thinkjet 2225P (parallel) printer cable? It
is not a standard Centronics, it has a 15 pin D connector at the printer
(male). Thanks all.

A while back, I found a posting from Tony Duell that seemed promising. I haven't tried it yet... I would like to know if it works.

Pins 12 and 13 may be swapped - I can't get either of them to change
state to check.

I should add that I have great respect for Tony's knowledge and his many contributions; the only reason I think it may not work as-described is Tony's own lack of confidence re pins 12 & 13.

Thank you for the information!

I'll try the connection and inform you as soon as possible.

Best wishes to all forum-members for 2007!

I can assure you that pinout works (I have used a 2225P with that cable). I can't remember what pins 12 and 13 are (some kind of error indicators?), they're not really needed for normal operation, hence my uncertainty

The diagram is how I wired my cable, but looking at it later I thought it looked more 'logical' (i.e. the pins that are used are in the same order at each end of the cable) if you swapped them round.

Hello again - the working assignment:

Pin 12 from PC-side has to be grounded or the PC thinks, the printer has no paper...

Thank you all for helping me very smart and fast
