Hello,

I have received my 1st Spice model, but am having difficulty removing the battery pack. I followed the instructions in the manual, which are to remove the cover and gently shake the calculator - to no avail.

How can I remove the battery pack?

Thanks!

Either pry it out, or give the calculator a good whack.

What should I use to pry it out? What angle should I come in from? (e.g. use a knife to lever out the top side?).

Is there a particular point where the pack sticks?

Thanks for your response.

A knife is NOT a pry tool. Use a thin blade flat screw driver and pry GENTLY fron various points until you work it out.

Good luck.

when you say "it" do you mean the cover or the pack. I.e. have you managed to remove the cover of the battery compartment?

If not, do not try to "pry" it out, look in the manual for the instructions on how it you can slide it out.

If you did in fact remove the cover and are having difficulty removing the actual battery pack, then things are far easier, the pack is simply held by the pressure of the power connectors on one side of the pack. Try lifting up the other side and the pack will come out.

Be very careful with the power connectors, they very easy to break esp. if the pack has leaked.

If the pack has leaked and there is green stuff on the connectors, this can be removed with lemon or vinegar. There may also be damage to the internal circuit boards of the calculator in which case it may be advisable to disassemble the calculator and closely inspect the inside for signs of corrosion (or have the calculator cleaned by someone who has done it before).
